Overview On How To Get Paid To Teach In Thailand

Since 2006, GeoVisions has sent more than 2,000 teachers to Thailand.  Over the years we have been inspired by the commitments people have made to make a difference in Thai children’s lives and those in their host communities.  There is the obvious financial commitment, but many teachers have to find someone to sublet their apartment, find a place to store their car, handle student loans and of course say “goodbye” for awhile to their families and loved ones.

GeoVisions is proud to be able to help by providing four amazing opportunities no matter where you are in your career path, and no matter what kind of commitments you are able to make at this time in your life.  We are always touched and inspired by you and what you are able to do to succeed in Thailand.  The least we can do is to make the journey easier.

If you’re a current teacher in the United States, Canada or the UK and you only have time in the summer months to teach in Thailand, we have a limited number of positions for you.  If you can arrive in May or October and commit to teach for an academic semester, we have many positions in Northern Thailand and if arriving in May or October is too restrictive, we can take you any other month for 4+ months of teaching and place you in a great teaching job in many parts of Thailand.

It really comes down to when you can depart and how long you can stay.  Whatever that is, we have an opportunity to for you to teach and get paid in Thailand.  Our way of saying, “thank you” for the commitment you are willing to make.

One of our teachers, Chris Gering, made a video when he was in Thailand teaching.  “One Life – Go Teach In Thailand” is a great video, totally from the perspective of a teacher there, and could provide that little added “push” for you to go teach in Thailand.  We hope you’ll take a few minutes and watch.

Timing Is Everything

Basically, GeoVisions has learned from all of our teachers over the years that the final decision to be a paid teacher in Thailand boils down to timing.  May through September is the first semester in Thailand.  Then the 2nd semester runs from November through February.  Schools are not in session approximately in October, March and April.

If you can work around those school year and semester dates, we have jobs.  If you can’t, that’s fine.  We can easily find you a paid teaching job when it’s convenient for you.  You just have to realize you will start during the school year with classes already in session.

Here are our remaining intake dates for 2015:

September 28
October 3 (This gets you ready for the second semester.)
October 26
November 30
December 28

Intake dates for 2016:

February 1
February 29
April 4
May 2 (This intake gets you ready for the academic year.)
June 6
July 4
August 1
August 29
October 3 for the second semester.
November 28
December 28
